Stony Point Police Department

Project Lifesaver

Project Lifesaver is a nationwide program designed to bring people who are at risk of wandering, particularly the elderly, including those with Alzheimer’s, Autism, Downs Syndrome and Dementia home safely. The program places a transmitter on the person’s wrist or ankle and it emits a radio frequency signal that law enforcement can track. People who may wander because of medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism or those with developmental disorders may enroll in the program.

The Stony Point Police Department procured grant money to fund the program, train officers and purchase its first lot of “transmitters” and are offering it at NO COST to participants.

(Participants MUST BE residents of Stony Point).
